Toys are one of those categories that never really slow down. Kids grow out of things fast, there's always a birthday party on the calendar, and every year there's a whole new group of kids who want the same Lego sets and Disney toys their older siblings had. That's really the story of this business.
I sell toys from Lego, Disney and Mattel, brands that every parent in the country already recognizes. Nobody needs to be sold on a Lego set or a Disney toy, which is why I've never spent anything on ads. Customers search for these products by name and buy them.
And it's not just a holiday business. Toys sell all year long because there's always a birthday coming up, and there's a brand new group of kids growing into these toys every single year. The holidays are just the spike on top of sales that are already steady and predictable from January to November.
So what's holding the store back? Honestly, it's me. Or more specifically, my bank account.
These are higher priced products, and keeping the full catalog stocked takes more working capital than I've had to put in. Demand has never been the issue. If a new owner comes in and simply keeps the current products in stock, I believe sales could double, maybe even triple, without adding anything new to the catalog.
The day to day side of the business is handled by our 3PL partner, and they do a lot more than just ship boxes. They keep track of inventory, handle the reorders, and talk to the distributor directly. They also put together product bundles and bring new ideas to the table for the store.
I spend very little time on it myself, which is exactly how I set it up. Here are the past twelve month financials: Revenue:$654,185 | Net Profit: $84,574 The store has been running since 2020. I'm selling because my partner and I started this store and he wants to re-invest every penny, which I don’t want to do so we decided to let go of the store and split ways.
I've priced it at $112,000 with that in mind. If you've got capital to put into inventory and want a store where the customers are already lined up, reach out and let's talk.
