A Letter From the Owner
Over thirty years ago, I came to Punta Cana from Canada for what was supposed to
be a two-week vacation. I had no idea that those two weeks would completely
change my life.
At the time, I didn't know anyone, I didn't speak Spanish, and I certainly
wasn't planning to start a business in the Dominican Republic.
But from the
moment I arrived, something felt different. The people welcomed me with genuine
warmth, strangers smiled as if we'd known each other for years, and life seemed
to move at a pace that reminded me there was more to living than simply making a
living.
When I returned home, I couldn't stop thinking about Punta Cana.
A few months
later, I made the biggest decision of my life. I sold my business, packed
everything I owned, and moved here to start over.
It wasn't always easy.
I had to learn a new language, understand a different
culture, and build a business from the ground up. But I was never alone. The
Dominican people encouraged me every step of the way.
They became my friends, my
partners, and in many ways, my extended family.
Together, we built one of Punta Cana's most respected deep-sea fishing
operations.
What surprises me most, looking back, is that the business became only part of
the reward.
The real reward was the life it gave me.
Most mornings begin beside the Caribbean Sea as guests head offshore in search
of marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, and wahoo. By early afternoon, my work is
largely done, leaving time to enjoy everything that made me fall in love with
this place.
Some days I play one of Punta Cana's beautiful championship golf courses. Other
days I take my Harley for a ride along the coast or enjoy lunch overlooking the
ocean while the day's fresh catch is prepared just a few hours after it comes
off the boats.
Life here is lived outdoors.
Whether it's fishing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking,
cycling, walking miles of white-sand beaches, or simply watching another
spectacular sunset over the Caribbean, every day feels a little like a vacation.
Baseball is everywhere. It's the national passion, and it's not uncommon to
watch young players who may someday become Major League stars.
It reminds you
that dreams really do begin here.
The evenings are just as memorable. Wonderful restaurants, fresh seafood, live
music, dancing, and conversations with people from around the world who came for
a vacation and, like me, found something much more.
When friends visit from Canada, they almost always ask the same question:
"Why didn't we do this years ago?"
I smile because I remember asking myself exactly the same thing.
Looking back now, I realize I didn't just build a successful business.
I built a
life that my friends back home still envy.
After more than thirty years, I've decided it's time for someone else to
continue the journey.
If you're looking only for boats, equipment, and financial statements, you'll
certainly find them here.
But if you've ever dreamed of waking up every morning
where millions of people come only for a vacation... if you've imagined owning a
successful business while enjoying championship golf, world-class fishing,
incredible food, warm weather, and a community that quickly feels like family...
then perhaps this opportunity is exactly what you've been searching for.
I came to Punta Cana looking for a vacation.
I found a new life. Now it's someone else's turn.
